Shannon Lawrence
With over 30 years of experience working with children, youth, families, and individuals, I bring extensive knowledge in parenting strategies, behavioral issues, and supporting clients through various life transitions. My 18-year tenure in school districts has fueled my passion for advocating for children whose needs are not being met.
As a Registered Professional Counselor (RPC-c) in good standing with the CPCA, I am dedicated to providing compassionate and professional support. My training includes play therapy, grief counseling, and couples counseling (Gottman Trained; Level 1 and 2). I firmly believe in continuous learning and regularly enhancing my skills to better support my clients in managing everyday stressors.
I recognize that everyone has a unique story, and I honour the courage it takes to seek counseling as the first step toward a better sense of self-worth. In my practice, I utilize a range of therapeutic modalities, including CBT, Person-Centered Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and Attachment Theory. I offer neuro-affirming approaches for neuro-divergent clients as well.
My counseling office offers a warm, inviting, non-judgmental, safe space where you can freely share your worries and thoughts. Building a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients is paramount to me. I invite you to take the next step and allow me to support you on your journey toward personal growth and healing.
